The Girl with the Red Umbrella

“She walks, quickly boots clicking against the wet gray side walk.
The wind whips back her dark hair, flipping her trench coat away from her small frame.
The sky is gray and the street is gray, the buildings, the people…me.
She holds the only piece of color in the world, she carries a red umbrella.
It shines in the rain and she looks back at me.
A quizzical look on her face.
As if to say, come on! The world is beautiful, only if youʼd look at it my way.
So I take a chance, and follow her, but I fear she has changed her mind.
Twisting far away from me, in crowds that are made for the blind.
I run after her and her piece of color,”

The Walk Alone

Lonely path

Sometimes you start out seeing the vision. You’ll walk alone for a while, but you will find those who share the vision with you eventually. Keep on the path. It’s worth the wait.

It’s ok to walk alone

Like an elephant roaming the jungle, it is better to walk alone than be with those who will only hinder your progress. Be brave and do what others won’t.
