FACIAL RESURFACER Q & A
QUESTION: I feel like the resurfacer is really rough. Can it hurt my skin?
ANSWER: It can if you are too rough with it, so be careful. If you have redness in an area with less hardy skin (like your cheeks) you may want to avoid that area entirely. At the very least, use a very light hand. THAT SAID, the grains are spherical and not jagged, so they won’t be making micro cuts in your skin!
QUESTION: How much do I need to use?
ANSWER: You shouldn’t need much more than a pea-sized blob. But you should mix it with a little bit of water which really helps it disperse. You could also mix it with your cleanser (though the SeneGence cleanser already does have a chemical exfoliant in it).

This volcanic ash has the amazing ability to attract impurities; particularly impurities related to cigarette smoking. 
The volcanic ash is crushed into a granular form of varying degrees of fine powder and particles depending upon which product you are using.
Volcanic ash in fine powder form has the ability to absorb oil or water in MUCH greater masses than the weight of the powder itself. 
Meaning, that 1 pound of powdered ash could probably absorb 2 pounds of oil (helping to remove surface cells and impurities).

What is exfoliation really?
And do I need to do it?
Exfoliation, quite simply, is removing the dead skin cell layer from the surface of your skin.
There are multiple ways to exfoliate:
Physical Exfoliation: Scrubs, resurfacers, and dermaplaning, are a few examples of physical exfoliation. They gently buff the dead skin cells away.
Chemical Exfoliation: These are your peels, alpha/beta hydroxy acids. and retinols. They exfoliate by breaking down the “glue” that holds the dead skin cells together.
Both are effective and you can choose one or the other or both.
Exfoliators are an essential part of your skincare routine – and can be one of the easiest ways to get the most out of your skincare and makeup!
