What are the It Works! Greens?

If you’re like me, sometimes you struggle to eat as many fruits and vegetables as you should on a daily basis. Sometimes I just don’t have time to prepare the food, and if I’m traveling it can be even harder to find fresh food and eat healthy. This is why I have an ongoing love affair with the It Works! Greens.

I figured I’d write this review since It Works! has recently released an updated formula of the Greens that comes in an “orangier” orange flavor than the original version along with a newly added berry flavor.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Greens, it’s a supplement powder made of 38 different herbs, vegetables, and nutrient-rich superfoods. The variety of plants and nutrients in this jar is MUCH greater than what most people would be able to find, buy, prepare, and eat. Not only that, but with each tiny scoop (or two) you get more than 8 servings of fruits and vegetables.

What are the benefits to taking the Greens regularly?

People who have a mainly vegetarian diet are shown to live longer and get sick less frequently. This is because the nutrition of their plant-based diet has loads of healing benefits for the body. Check out the label from the Greens jar below to see exactly what plants are inside.

The Greens can help detoxify your cells, which makes them a great supplement to take in combination with a weight-loss program or the It Works! skinny wrap. Not only that, but the plants found in Greens have an alkalizing effect on your body. If you’re unfamiliar with what is in greens, check out my detailed post about the subject by clicking here.

Basically, having an alkaline body means that your internal pH, or acidity level, is balanced. Disease, mold, fungus and other microorganisms that negatively affect your health can’t survive in an alkaline environment, which is another encouraging reason to add more plants to your diet.

Are there any other reasons I should take Greens?

Yes! A lot of people say that their craving for soda and coffee goes away when they replace these drinks with the Greens. In fact, the label says not to drink them close to bedtime because the amount of plant-power energy actually keeps you feeling alert and awake kind of like coffee does! But without the crash and addictive nature of caffeine.

The huge dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants also does wonders for your entire system. Taking Greens regularly can clean out the toxins in your digestive system, and the antioxidants get rid of impurities accumulated in cells. Other people have said that the Greens have contributed to their weight-loss because of the antioxidant, alkalizing, and detoxifying properties of the product.

If you read my recent post about probiotics, you know that adding some beneficial bacteria to your diet can benefit your immune system, your digestive system and possibly even your mood. The new Greens has a cutting-edge probiotic formula to round out the plant nutrition found inside. I can’t think of many other single supplements with this many great benefits for the body.

Are the Greens expensive?

When you factor in the cost and time of buying, preparing, and eating 8+ servings of vegetables, the Greens simply can’t be beat in terms of price.

A regular-sized jar of Greens with enough powder for about 60 scoops goes for $55 retail or $33 for loyal customers (ask me how to become a loyal customer and get this price). You can also get highly-portable single-servings of Greens on the Go in either flavor for $59 retail/$35 loyal customers that lets you take it anywhere. I like to shake it up in a water bottle but some people stir it into their cups.

The most cost-effective way to buy the Greens are by getting the value-size, of course. At $139 retail and $79 for loyal customers (again, ask me how to get this price on my Facebook page or my email at, you get the equivalent of 3 regular sized jars for a good amount less than buying them seperately.

Is it hard to take Greens every day?

Taking Greens is not hard at all! You can mix it in any liquid, and they made sure to give it enough orange and berry flavor (depending on which jar you get) so that it’s delicious in just plain water. It’s also great in smoothies, orange juice, tea– whatever you want to mix it with really.

I like taking it in the morning instead of coffee because it gives me that same energetic feeling but without the crash of caffeine. I also feel fuller longer after eating breakfast and even feel like I can THINK better after taking it. This is a biased review, clearly, but only because I love these Greens so darn much!

Where can I learn more about the It Works! Greens?

You can learn more about the Greens or order them by clicking here.

Like I said before: If you’re the type of person who struggles to eat as many fruits and vegetables as they should, or simply want to give your diet a boost with many benefits, the Greens are something you should seriously consider.

And if you’re already a fan of the It Works! Ultimate Body Applicator, you already know that thousands of people have gotten awesome results from using this product. Adding the Greens to your skinny-wrap plan is a great way to help your body detox even more than using either of these products alone.

I know that people on blood thinners should NOT take greens because of the Vitamin K. So I will say Not to take it unless you get permission from your doctor. Hope that helps!

I think that it’s a piece to the puzzle. It will help you on your way. Part of the reason the weight stays where it is comes from the fat cells being full of toxins. So this will help you balance your body, detox your body from the inside, and alkaline your body to help build your immune system. I think with taking greens, being active, and being conservative about the types of food you put in your body you will be on a great path to becoming healthier.

You can have vitamin k rich foods with Xareltto but what about the Greens? I noticed they have white willow tree bark in them. That’s aspirin, which thins your blood.

Callie, I do know if you are are on blood thinners or are supposed to watch out for things that thin your blood you should not take greens. I did send you an email with the ingredients. Feel free to ask your pharmacist or doctor. I don’t think it’s a large amount but I don’t know for sure. It’s better to ask.

Could this product give me loose stools?

    • March 19, 2015 at 2:14 pm, Anna said:

When you begin taking it you may detox more in the first month than you would after. So bowel movements is one way your body gets rid of toxins. So it’s possible that you have loose stools but they should regulate after your body detoxes. Drink lots of water.

The more you can reduce the damage caused by free radicals with antioxidants, the more your can reduce or even prevent damage.
When our body p – H ( becomes more and more acidic it starts
to set up defense mechanisms to keep the damaging acid from entering
our vital organs. In reality, a number of these pills can help but only
if you couple them with lifestyle changes.

Ive been using greens to go for a couple weeks and i love the energy that it gives me. The problem i’m having is that it seems to be effecting my sleep. I take it by 9:00 each morning. Any one else having this issue?
I love the way it makes me feel so I really don’t want to stop using it.

    • April 03, 2015 at 8:47 pm, Anna said:

I’ve heard of that happening when someone takes it close to bed time. Not sure why it’s happening when you take it in the morning. Try only taking 1 scoop a day. See if that helps. Are you drinking caffeine late in the evening? That might be the problem too. It may not be the greens. But try one scoop.
